Outdoor Ceremony at Waters Edge in El Lago, TX | Photo by Pure Plush Photography The wedding of Schweta and Chaitanya Pradham was just beautiful in every way possible. It took place on March 24, 2024 at Waters Edge in El, Lago, TX, and the colors of this wedding came flowing through the door the morning of, from the outfits to the decor it all pieced together to one perfect beautiful day. The wedding was a celebration between two amazing people, who were clearly madly in love, and those two carefully selected the perfect dream vendor team to bring their fusion wedding vision to life. From the day starting out early (and I mean 4:30am EARLY) with hair and makeup by the lovely Jasmin Thomas the details just continued on. Jasmin made sure to include every touch Schweta wanted and more to make her feel perfect for her special day. Decor and table settings began being placed out perfectly on each table by NuTrends Events knowing guests would arrive soon and each have a place to enjoy the celebration. The linens were a perfect baby pink creating a neutral but perfect look for the bride and groom to enjoy. The table numbers were put out for each guest to find the table they were assigned to. The music filled the venue by the amazing DJ, Juan Lopez who created a fun, upbeat atmosphere as the day went on. The caterer Himalayan Taj began setting up morning tea and snacks for guests to enjoy as they arrived, followed by a delicious Indian buffet with drinks and desserts. Stress-free Wedding Planning with Next Chapter Weddings Guests came from all over the world traveling long and far for these two special people to get married. Guests arrived and were able to take polaroid pictures and write special messages to the bride and groom to look back on for years to come. The guests loved the polaroid so much, that we had to make announcements to have it returned to the sign-in table several times. Ha! There was no lack of love on this day, friends, family and coworkers flooded the venue the entire day with laughter and conversation. Schweta and Chaitanya Pradham shared traditions, created new memories and confessed their love for one another overlooking the perfect view they had at Waters Edge venue in El Lago, Texas. Lots of tradition went into this very special wedding, from the music to the decoration touches- the amazing outfits too! All of this created such a unique, yet beautiful wedding. The ceremony started and Antarpaat (The Holy Curtain)- Muhurtam began and this was the first time our Bride and Groom saw one another. The friends passed out a sweet treat for the guests to enjoy during the ceremony. This detail turned out to be much more precise than we had expected. We were all anticipating coming and going of guests during the ceremony; however, the officiant was captivating. We had to make sure to fulfill Schweta and Chaitanya’s request all while not distracting guests during the ceremony. The bride's father gave her away to her new husband, Chaitanya. He passed on the important role of taking care of his beloved daughter, Schweta. Chaitanya Pradham gave Shweta a Holy necklace and put a dot of kumkum on her forehead which is celebrated as the Holy Thread. The marriage knot followed, which would join the two families together. Chaitanya Pradham’s sister was the one to tie a knot between the garments of the bride and the groom. The priest began the Sacred Fire which allowed the bride and groom to offer ghee to the fire, as well as walk around the fire. The seven steps followed, each step the bride and groom cited a vow together. As the fire died down, worship with the goodness of wealth was recited. The bride and groom were showered with rose petals as they walked down the aisle which created a picture perfect moment. This was a detail that was very important to the Bride and Groom that they have gone a little over board with the amount of rose petals they brought. But, hey, are too many rose petals really ever a problem?? "But, hey, are too many rose petals really ever a problem??" Throughout the day, Pure Plush Photography was doing videography, as well as, taking photos so the couple can remember this day for many years to come. Pure Plush Photography made sure to capture all the little details from Schweta getting ready first thing in the morning, to the set up of the table numbers and gifts for guests to take home all the way up to the ceremony and reception. A Fusion Wedding down to the details. | Photo by Pure Plush Photography Instead of cake the bride and groom requested an Indian sweet with their dinner, as well as, Delicious mints to follow. Dinner was a traditional Indian Cuisine for all the guests to enjoy. The venue was filled, all day, with laughter and love. Waters Edge Venue alone is a great venue after adding in Shweta and Chaitanya Pradham’s decorations, family, friends it made for a perfect day looking out onto Clear Lake. Schweta and Chaitanya Pradham thought about all the little details even down to personalized named cards so everyone knew what table they were assigned too. They had a welcome card which showed the wedding itinerary so each guest could follow along. Shweta and Chaitanya Pradham’s wedding was not just a celebration, but a day where two people who were destined to be together, sealed the deal and said I do to forever. Shweta and Chaitanya Pradham chose to bring their Culture into the wedding which made it even more personal, they had small decorations to add touches from rugs to all of the outfits worn by family, friends and the Bride and Groom. Schweta and Chaitanya Pradham created this special day to celebrate their love for one another and share that love with all their loved ones on this special day. A wedding is supposed to be shared by two people who are committing their life to forever. Schweta and Chaitanya Pradham’s wedding made this look so easy, their love for one another shined through the entire day from smiles to laughter everyone knew this was meant to be forever. Shweta and Chaitanya Pradham vowed to one another to cherish, love and choose one another everyday for the rest of their lives on March 24th, 2024. This is a day they will tell their kids about and one day their grandchildren. The father of the bride ended dinner with a thank you speech which left many guests in tears and big smiles on their faces. The love of Shweta and Chaitanya Pradham showered Waters Edge all day from family and friends to the staff at Waters Edge who helped the day all come together. Schweta and Chaitanya Pradham’s wedding was just all in all a picture perfect day, from the weather being sunny to the caterers who brought Indian food for everyone to enjoy. The decorations, florals, drapes, table settings, and photo booth options made the wedding just so much more special. The bride and groom being two special people made sure to create their wedding atmosphere not just for them but for the people they love to enjoy as well. To many years of love, laughter and a relationship they can never be broken. Schweta and Chaitanya Pradham will be able to look back at memories such as the polaroid book, photographs, stories and more and cherish this day for years to come. The couple chose the most perfect venue to accommodate all of their family, friends, vendors and visions so the day could end up being a perfect day. - My Week as a Wedding Planner
Have you ever wondered what a week in the life of a Wedding Planner looks like? Spoiler alert: It’s never the same, and not as glamorous as J-Lo makes it seem. BUT it’s very rewarding and full of unique love stories, excitement and a lot of dedication! Here’s a little peek at what goes into making wedding magic happen- My Week as a Wedding Planner in Texas. Brandi Swanson | Owner and Lead Planner + Designer at Next Chapter Weddings, based in HTX Monday: Catching up on emails, finalizing timelines, and touching base with vendors to make sure everything is running smoothly. Organization is key! Honestly, I do this more than I do anything else in my business. Emails and vendor communication take up least 50-60% of my work hours. I do enjoy the process though! Especially, since I purchased my pink iMac. It makes my life run so much more efficient. I'd much rather email than make a fun call! What about you? Tuesday: Education + Learning. Always growing! Coordinating with my team, brainstorming new ideas, and prepping for upcoming weddings. Next year (2025), will be my third year to serve on the Association of Wedding Planners Board of Directors. This group is phenomenal. It consists of top notch Wedding Planners throughout the Greater Houston Area that all believe in community over competition. The association also focus on providing training to its members, in addition to great networking. You will find me attending AWP Meetings every month. You can also find me listening to hours of educational podcasts and webinars. "Next year (2025) will be my third year to serve on the Association of Wedding Planners Board of Directors." I was asked to speak on the panel to discuss Styled Shoots and why they are important in the wedding industry. Wednesday: Venue walk-throughs and design meetings—bringing the couple's dream to life, one detail at a time. When new venues pop up or I book a client that is getting married at a venue I have never worked at, I always try to schedule a venue walk-through. Knowing the layout and logistics of a venue prior to wedding day makes everything flow seamlessly. As Next Chapter Wedding's Lead Planner + Designer, I get the honor of designing for all of my planning clients. This includes floorplans, moodboards, mockups, color-matching, video calls, warehouse visits and more. Designing a wedding is not for the weak! (It's also my favorite part!) We love in-person meetings, but nothing replaces the flexibility of virtual calls! Thursday: Marketing to get our company name out to Brides and Grooms. Final check-ins with this weekend’s couple, packing my emergency kit (you name it, I’ve got it!), and making sure every little detail is in place. Marketings has so many faces. This could look like planning and executing a styled shoot, creating Instagram Reels, sending emails, participating in Bridal Shows, etc. Without marketing, couples would not know that Next Chapter Weddings exist, so we have to put the effort in each and every week to get our name out there. My favorite way to market is to make Instagram reels! Friday/Saturday: Wedding day magic! From rehearsal and setting up décor to keeping the schedule on track, we're in full coordination mode making sure everything is flawless. I usually only take meetings the first half of Friday as Friday evenings usually included wedding rehearsals. Some couples opt to have Friday weddings, so if that's the case, we are at a wedding, of course. And if there is no rehearsal or wedding, I try to recharge and catch my breath before Saturday. Most Saturdays are wedding days. Now that our Next Chapter Weddings team is growing, I personally may have less Saturdays booked. In a way this is sad- I LOVE wedding day! However, allowing time to recharge and grow the company only benefits everyone involved (myself, my family, my team and my clients). I still get excited for my lovely Bride! Sunday: A little R&R with my #1 favs. This is a non-negotiable this year. I no longer take meetings on Sundays. Wedding days are so hard on me physically, I NEED the recovery time. And more importantly, my kiddos need me to be present. I am so honored to have a job that I absolutely love, and I have the most amazing clients, but Sundays are simply my favorite. You can't beat the snuggles and laughter from an 8, 6 and 3 year old. Welcome, dear readers, to the exciting world of wedding planning, where love stories are transformed into magical celebrations! As a passionate wedding planner, I've had the privilege of orchestrating countless love-filled affairs, each one unique and brimming with joy. Today, I'm thrilled to share one unforgettable wedding day experience, where dreams came alive and hearts united in harmonious bliss: Carla + Anthony Dundee's wedding in Galveston, TX! The Planning/ The Execution Carla sent an inquiry via my website contact form and we met for the first time via zoom. She was very excited for her Galveston wedding and wanted to be sure she had a Coordinator on staff to ensure that her wedding day ran smoothly. After discussing our packages, she ended up booking our Full Coordination Package meaning she would do the planning herself and my team would step in to execute her vision when wedding time came. " wanted to be sure she had a Coordinator on staff to ensure that her wedding day ran smoothly." The Setting January 22nd was a perfectly pleasant day in Galveston, TX. Carla and her 5 Bridesmaids got ready in a suite at Hotel Glavez. When I arrived that were laughing and enjoying every moment. I had met the crew the night before at rehearsal and all was steadily moving along. Carla decided that she wanted me to stay with her and ride to the church in the same car, so my assistant made her way to the church to make sure that all was set and ready to proceed with the Bride's arrival. The Ceremony Carla and Anthony's wedding ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Holy Family Parish). The white walls and stained glass windows made the perfect backdrop for their families and friends to witness their commitment to one another. The couple had designated ushers that greeted each guest and walked them to their seats. Rehearsal ran smoothly the night before so the wedding party knew exactly what to do. I waited in the car with Carla and helped her reapply her lipstick. She was nervous, but so very excited. Once my assistant gave me the cue, Carla and I walked to the front doors of the church. I held her train along the way, then placed it perfectly behind her. I love to remind my clients to take in all in. When it was Carla's turn, I told her to take a deep breath and nod when she was ready for me and my assistant to open the door. It was on old, tall, wood door- perfect for a grand entrance. At that point, I typically hide away until the ceremony is over, but this venue allowed for my assistant and I to sit in the back and to watch the entire ceremony. It was perfect. The Florals The florals were kept simple: white and lavender roses. Carla and her bridesmaids each held a rose bouquet, and Anthony and his groomsmen wore rose boutonnieres. The churched matched with large altar arrangements, and the theme was carried out at the reception venue (Hotel Galvez) as each guest table adorned a small arrangement filled with white, lavender and plum roses. The Décor Décor consisted of elegant table settings: charger plates, cloth napkins and menu cards, with the floral arrangements too, of course. The couple even provided mini succulents as thank you gifts to each of their guests. Hotel Glavez. set everything out themselves which made the day run seamlessly. Their service team was AH-mazing!! This may be tmi, but let me tell you how amazing they were... at the time of this wedding, I was a breastfeeding mama that had to pump twice during day. The catering staff stored the milk for me and literally brought it out to me on a silver platter at the end of the night! They even bagged it in a cute to-go bag. It was top notch service! The Joyous Moments In addition to top notch service, Hotel Glavez. also provided a great dinner. After Carla and Anthony's Grand Entrance into their Reception, they shared their first dance to "All My Life" by K-Ci & JoJo. The couple glided across the dance floor with grace and charm. Their dance was more than a choreographed sequence; it was an expression of their love and unity. Then Carla's dad, Ceaser, gave a welcome toast. During this time, the catering staff delivered the plated meal to all of the guests. After dinner, the couple's Maid of Honor, Paula, and Best Man, Lance, gave beautiful toasts to the Bride and Groom. Carla and Anthony were both smiling ear to ear the entire time! The Unforgettable Memories After toasts, the Bride danced with her father and the Groom danced with his mother. THEN it happened. In my opinion, the most fun moment of the night: the Bride + Bridesmaid dance! Carla had choreographed an entire dance routine with her girls to perform for Anthony. I knew it was going to happen. Carla and I had discussed it in advance- we had even written it into their wedding day Itinerary, but is was still so fun and unforgettable to watch in person. Anthony was not expecting it. (He clearly never viewed the Itinerary, ha). Some bridesmaids were serious, some were laughing, but it was clear that they each enjoyed the moment. The guests seemed to love it too! As a former dance studio owner and teacher, I absolutely loved it. Anthony had his own plan for shenanigans. He had slipped a construction worker's vest and hard hat to me earlier in the day to keep track of. After the bouquet toss, I passed the items to him and he dressed up for a fun retrieval of his Bride's garter. This group definitely knew how to have fun! "Anthony had his own plan for shenanigans." Soon after, the floor was open to everyone, and the night transformed into a dazzling dance party. It was heartwarming to witness grandparents twirling with grandchildren and friends laughing as they grooved to the rhythm of love. Soon after the Smore's Bar opened up. Yep- that's right: Smore's Bar. Yum!! I refrained myself and only went through the line once. It was a huge hit amongst the guests! If you want to offer something fun and unique to your guests, a smore's bar is it! A little before the night ended, Carla changed into a white jumpsuit. It was gorgeous!! And even though it was super cold outside, she pushed through and took phenomenal photos with her groom in the courtyard. The night concluded with a sparkler exit. Conclusion As a Wedding Planner, each celebration feels like a unique love story in the making, and Carla and Anthony's wedding day was no exception. From the heartfelt vows to the joyous dancing, every moment was infused with love and happiness. For Reese and Joey, their journey began with a destined encounter that blossomed into a beautiful romance, culminating in a breathtaking wedding celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. As they embarked on the next chapter of their lives together, Next Chapter Weddings had the honor of bringing their dream wedding to life in the heart of Houston. And let me tell you… it was absolutely perfect!! Without a doubt, Reese and Joey’s elegant Houston wedding was one of my most favorite weddings to date. Everyone was so kind, the Vendors were amazing, the food was phenomenal, and most importantly, Reese and Joey were obviously deeply in love. It doesn’t get better than that! "Reese and Joey were obviously deeply in love. It doesn’t get better than that!" The Ceremony The picturesque St. John Church at Sam Houston Park served as the perfect setting for Reese and Joey's ceremony. Nestled among towering trees and surrounded by historic charm, the chapel provided a romantic backdrop for the couple to exchange their heartfelt vows. St. John Church is a one-room, small church that was built in 1891. It has beautiful elements of the Gothic Revival style of architecture. It also holds various items that are displayed as a small museum. The front of the chapel held two glorious floral arrangements provided by Freedom Florals of Houston, TX. With the serene melodies of HeartStrings Houston filling the air, Reese made her way down the aisle, her radiant smile illuminating the room, and Joey's eyes sparkling with love and anticipation. The Special Details The ceremony was officiated by Reagan Reynolds, Joey’s childhood friend. It was a beautiful testament to Joey's commitment to strong friendships. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they promised to stand by each other's side through thick and thin, embarking on a journey of love and partnership that would last a lifetime. With every heartfelt word spoken, it was clear that Reese and Joey were meant to be together, and their love filled the room with warmth and joy. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds took portraits with their families and each other while their guests made their way to Pappas Bros Steakhouse for a lavish dinner party reception. The elegant ambiance of the restaurant provided the perfect setting for an evening of celebration and revelry. Freedom Floral had gorgeous arrangements of blooms adorning every table, adding a touch of romance to the festivities. From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted with the unmistakable scent of sizzling steaks and the sound of clinking glasses, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. They were also greeted by my amazing Assistant, Danielle, who made sure all guests found their seats and received their valet comps. I transferred the chapel floral arrangements to the dinner party reception to all to the already beautiful flowers that were already set up. You can never have too many flowers, right? The Reception I met Reese and Joey at the front of the restaurant and bustled Reese’s wedding gown then made our way to the back room for their grand entrance. The couple was met with thunderous applause and cheers of joy from their loved ones. Pappas Bros Steakhouse had their own sound system built-in to the private room so it made announcements seamless. The couple opted to join their guests in a relaxed atmosphere during cocktail hour. They did not want the typical wedding day formalities; such as, a first dance, parent dances or a bouquet toss. Instead they wanted all of their guests AND vendors to eat, drink and be merry! Of course, none of the vendors drank alcohol while we were working, but we were treated so well! We were given the wine room to leave our personal items to enjoy the same 4 course meal as Reese, Joey and their wedding guests. It. Was. Amazing!! Throughout the evening, guests were treated to a culinary experience like no other, with mouthwatering dishes served with impeccable attention to detail. The dinning experience started off with a flavorful shrimp cocktail. Next: the most mouth watering salad I had ever experienced. For the main course, guests had the option of filet mignon, salmon or grilled chicken. What did all the vendors choose? Filet mignon, of course!! The wait staff brought risotto and green beans for the table to share (family style). Last, but certainly not least, all guests (and vendors) were given the choice of cheesecake, sorbet or chocolate turtle pie for dessert. I chose the chocolate turtle pie, and it was the most amazing dessert I have ever tasted in my entire life… seriously, it was so good!!! I cannot wait to go back. The food was not just dinner, but an experience that none of Reese and Joey’s guests would soon forget. We Can't Forget These Players! We can't forget that Lovelykind Beauty ensured that Reese and looked flawless with their expert hair and makeup services, while Lee Febres Photography captured every special moment with skill and artistry, creating timeless memories that Reese and Joey will cherish for years to come. But beyond the delicious food and elegant surroundings, it was the love and camaraderie shared among Reese, Joey, and their guests that truly made the evening unforgettable. Laughter echoed off the walls as guests shared stories and toasted to the happy couple, their hearts overflowing with happiness for Reese and Joey as they embarked on this new chapter of their lives together. As the night drew to a close, Reese and Joey stole a quiet moment together, reflecting on the whirlwind of emotions that had filled their wedding day.
