When I first stepped into the wedding industry, I didn’t have a portfolio filled with luxury weddings. I didn’t have a list of high-profile clients or years of experience under my belt. In fact, I had only ever planned one wedding — my own.
But what I did have was a deep-rooted passion.
I had spent years planning recitals, showcases, and community events for the dance studio I owned. I had helped organize events with my local Chamber of Commerce. I knew how to think on my feet, manage timelines, wrangle a crowd, and create meaningful experiences.
Still, weddings were different. They weren’t just events. They were sacred, emotional, once-in-a-lifetime moments. And even though I hadn’t done it professionally yet, I knew in my gut that I was supposed to help couples soak in every second of their day — distraction-free, stress-free, and full of joy.
I didn’t wait for someone to tell me I was “qualified.” I let my passion lead. And you know what I’ve learned? Passion is a real qualification.

Why Passion Matters in Business
In a world full of polished branding and long resumes, it’s easy to feel like you don’t measure up — especially when you’re just starting. But passion has something no bullet point ever could: heart.
Passion is what keeps you going when things get hard.
It’s what fuels you when you feel unsure.
It’s what draws clients to you — because people can feel when you care.
When I meet a couple who truly loves each other, it lights something in me. I want to fight for their peace. I want to make sure they can slow down, breathe it in, and feel every moment. That passion is my compass. And it’s also what keeps me learning, improving, and growing — because I care about doing it well.

You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out
If you're reading this and feeling unsure of yourself because you don’t have years of experience yet — I see you.
I was you.
But here’s what I want you to know: you’re allowed to start before everything is perfectly lined up.
You don’t need to know it all. You just need to care enough to figure it out as you go. And if your heart is truly in the right place? That’s not “faking it” — that’s being bold enough to start.
Clients don’t need you to be perfect. They need you to care. They need someone who listens, someone who shows up, someone who takes the weight off their shoulders.
That can be you. Even now.

3 Quick Reminders for Passion-Driven Entrepreneurs:
1. Don’t minimize your “non-traditional” experience. Just because it’s not wedding-specific doesn’t mean it’s not valuable. Leadership, organization, people skills — it all translates.
2. Passion creates momentum. Your love for the work will push you to grow, serve, and learn faster than any textbook ever could.
3. You already have what you need to begin. You might not feel ready. But if you care deeply and are willing to do the work, you’re more qualified than you think.
Passion won’t always show up on paper. But it will show up in how you serve, how you show up, and how you fight for your clients’ peace and joy.
So if you're leading with heart — keep going. That fire inside you is more than enough to build something meaningful.
With heart,
Brandi
