Why I Believe in Love And Why That Matters for My Heart-Led Business

By Brandi Swanson, Next Chapter Weddings | Based in Houston, TX — and always willing to travel for love

You could say I’m in the business of timelines, floor plans, and vendor coordination. And yes, I am. But at the core of what I do, I’m in the business of love.

That may sound idealistic to some, but for me, it’s the truth. It’s what drives everything I do as a wedding planner and a business owner.

I believe in love — not just the romantic kind you see in movies, but the real, hard, holy kind that holds on through highs and lows, laughter and silence, celebration and struggle. And I believe that love is worth protecting, honoring, and yes, celebrating.

Why My Belief in Love Shapes My Work

When I started Next Chapter Weddings, I didn’t launch it because I wanted to throw parties. I launched it because I saw a problem: couples were working so hard to plan their wedding that they weren’t able to be present for it.

They were stressed, distracted, overwhelmed, and missing the beauty of their own day.

And I thought: "What if someone could come alongside them and carry the burden? What if someone could make space for them to just be together, to soak in the joy and magic of what they’re committing to?"

That someone became me.

Because I believe in what they’re doing.

I believe in marriage.

I believe in sacred promises.

I believe in love that’s deeper than the décor or the dress.

What Love Looks Like in a Heart-Led Business

To me, a heart-led business means serving people with intention, not just efficiency. It means remembering that behind every checklist is a couple stepping into one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

I protect the peace.

Because love grows best in calm spaces. I do everything in my power to remove chaos and stress so couples can stay grounded in what matters.

I honor the moment.

I don't treat weddings like productions. I treat them like milestones. I know how hard it can be to hold onto the "why" in the middle of all the details — so I help my clients return to it, over and over again.

I serve with heart.

My job isn’t just logistics — it’s presence. It’s care. It’s listening to what my couples aren’t saying, anticipating their needs, and showing up with a level of thoughtfulness that reminds them: you’re not doing this alone.

Love Isn’t Always Easy — and That’s the Point

I won’t pretend love is perfect. It’s not. It’s work. It’s a choice. It’s staying when it’s easier to run. It’s finding each other again after life tries to pull you apart.

But that’s exactly why I do what I do. Because I’ve lived enough life to know: love is still worth it.

Helping couples celebrate that kind of commitment? That’s my joy. That’s my purpose. That’s why I show up with full heart and steady hands — because I know what’s on the line.

So yes — I build timelines. Yes — I confirm vendors and fluff dresses and cue music. But more than anything? I create space for love to be fully seen, fully felt, and fully celebrated. And that’s what makes this more than a job. That’s what makes it sacred. That’s what makes this a heart-led business in every sense of the word.

With all my heart,

Brandi
