A few things to keep in mind before you apply.

Phase 1: Introduction & Onboarding (Month 1)

• Objective: Acclimate interns to the company culture, values, and operational procedures.

• Activities:

  • Company Orientation: Introduction to Next Chapter Weddings, its mission, services, and team.

  • Shadowing: Observe experienced planners during meetings, vendor interactions, and client consultations.

  • Training Sessions: Overview of wedding planning essentials, company tools, and software (e.g., project management, CRM).

  • Assignments: Assist with basic tasks such as organizing files, updating databases, and taking meeting notes.

 

Phase 2: Learning & Skill Development (Months 2-3)

• Objective: Build foundational skills in wedding planning and event coordination.

• Activities:

  • Workshops: Attend specialized workshops on budgeting, vendor coordination, timeline management, and design.

  • Hands-On Experience: Assist in planning smaller events or specific wedding aspects (e.g., decor setup, guest management).

  • Project Assignments: Take ownership of individual tasks, such as creating mood boards or drafting client proposals.

  • Mentorship: Regular check-ins with a mentor to review progress, ask questions, and receive feedback.

 

Phase 3: Real-World Application (Months 4-5)

• Objective: Apply learned skills to real-world projects and gain deeper insights into wedding planning.

• Activities:

  • Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings, contribute ideas, and handle follow-up communications.

  • Event Coordination: Take on more significant responsibilities during live events, such as coordinating vendors or managing timelines.

  • Independent Projects: Lead a small-scale event or a specific wedding planning element from start to finish under supervision.

  • Networking: Attend industry events, meet vendors, and build relationships within the wedding industry.

 

Phase 4: Capstone & Evaluation (Month 6)

• Objective: Demonstrate competence and readiness for a potential role within the company.

• Activities:

  • Capstone Project: Plan and execute a mock wedding or event, showcasing all acquired skills.

  • Portfolio Development: Compile a portfolio of work, including designs, event summaries, and testimonials.

  • Final Evaluation: Receive feedback on performance from mentors and team members, and discuss potential future opportunities within the company.

  • Exit Interview: Reflect on the internship experience, provide feedback, and explore career paths in wedding planning.
